The Centre for Transparency Advocacy, on 14/12/2022 held a School’s Cultural Competition featuring Arts , Poetry and dance. Skills and talents were fully deployed by students of the participating schools. The Executive Director of CTA Faith Nwadishi promised to encourage the talented students even as she offered a scholarship to a student with special needs and various gifts were given to schools, teachers and students. The event was well attended with representatives from cohort members, the media and the Original Inhabitants. Mr Armsfree Ajanaku represented CHRICED. The highlight of the event was the presentation of trophies, plaques, medals and gifts to winners. The event was laced with poetry renditions, dance and drama.
Objective(s) of the activity: To create awareness among young persons on the values and cultures of the 9 tribes of the FCT through Artwork, Poetry and dance
Apart from prizes for the three winners in Art and Poetry respectively, there were other presentations of gifts and cash prizes from participants and staff of the CTA capturing various categories;

Outcomes
Participating students were able to identify the different tribes of the indigenous people of the FCT and gave a distinctive display of the culture in dance, drama and poetry.
Conclusions/ Recommendations
As a result of the excellent performers of participating schools, it was established that all participating schools for the 2022 competition will automatically qualify for the 2023 competition.
Next Steps
– Raise ambassadors among students to join the fight for social justice of the Original Inhabitants of the FCT.
– All participating schools would automatically qualify for the next year’s competition
– All Artwork would be framed and the poetry would be compiled as a book with every participating student and their teachers would be given full credit for the work.
