@cta916 Congratulates Faith Nwadishi @adadiche1 the Executive Director on her Swearing-In as Justice of Peace

The Centre for Transparency Advocacy (CTA), is delighted to announce the momentous swearing-in ceremony of Faith Nwadishi, Executive Director of CTA, as a Justice of Peace. The honorable ceremony took place at the High Court in Kwale, Delta State, on May 17, 2023, and was conducted by Justice D C Maidoh, representing the esteemed Chief Judge of Delta State.

As an organization dedicated to promoting transparency, accountability, and justice in Nigeria, the Centre for Transparency Advocacy commends Faith Nwadishi on this remarkable achievement. The swearing-in ceremony marks a significant milestone in her career, further reinforcing her commitment to upholding the principles of fairness, impartiality, and the rule of law.

Faith Nwadishi's appointment as a Justice of Peace is a testament to her unwavering dedication to justice and her outstanding contributions to good governance , extractive justice, rule of law and sustainable development in Nigeria. Throughout her tenure as the Executive Director of CTA, Ms. Nwadishi has consistently advocated for transparency, good governance, and the protection of citizens' rights. Her appointment serves as recognition of her exemplary service and expertise in these areas.

CTA applauds the governor of Delta State Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for acknowledging Faith Nwadishi's exceptional qualifications and meritorious service. By appointing her as a Justice of Peace, the governor and Chief Judge have entrusted Ms. Nwadishi with a crucial role in fostering justice, resolving disputes, and promoting peace within the community and the society.

CTA remains fully committed to supporting Faith Nwadishi (JP) in her new role and looks forward to witnessing her continued pursuit of fairness and equity. @cta916 preliminary report on the gubernatorial elections, which took place in 28 states of the Federation, and the state houses of assembly elections, which took place in 36 states of the Federation.
We note that, once again, Nigerian politicians have proven to be impervious to change. On the part of security agents, there is clear evidence of dereliction of duty and complicity with the politicians to deny Nigerians their rights to choose those who govern them. This has in no small measure emboldened miscreants to snatch, disrupt, and destroy election materials. On a final note, INEC is encouraged to become more proactive and put measures in place to mitigate attempts by enemies of credible elections to truncate our democracy.

@cta916 Press Conference and Opening of the Situation Room for Governorship and House of Assembly Elections in Asaba, Delta State.
CTA set up an Election Day Situation Room in Asaba for the March 18th gubernatorial and state assembly elections to receive reports in real time from the field observers.
CTA encourages citizens to exercise their civic responsibilities by voting for candidates of their choice. They should remember that the gubernatorial and house of representatives candidates are the ones closer to the grassroots, and utmost care should be taken in choosing those who occupy such positions. We still believe in the ability of INEC to deliver a free, fair, credible, and conclusive election. We also insist on the continued deployment of the BVAS, which has proven to be a game changer in the conduct of the elections.

@cta916 Stakeholders' round table in preparations for the 2023 governorship and house of representatives elections.
As you must have heard, the Independent National Electoral Commission has shifted the governorship and house of assembly elections by one week. The elections will now be held on March 18, 2023. The reasons, according to INEC, are to enable the commission to reconfigure the B-VAS for the governorship and house of assembly elections. Another reason arose from the judgments of the Court of Appeal allowing political parties to inspect the B-VAS as part of their demand while seeking redress from the last elections.
Our mandate as stakeholders at this point in time will be to contribute our quota towards free, fair, peaceful, inclusive, conclusive, and credible governorship and house of assembly elections. To this effect, the CTA has engaged various stakeholders to gauge the pulse and preparations of the citizens and the Election Management Body towards the election.
We advise that citizens shun voting buying and selling, which undermines the election. Also, security agencies should assure the masses of adequate protection during the election periods.

3rd Press Conference on the Observation of the Conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections, Held on February 25, 2023.

The executive director, Engr. Faith Nwadishi, in her speech implore Nigerians to be patient. Nigerians should be vigilant as the elections are not yet over. March 11, 2023 is the Governorship and States House of Assembly Elections. Do not be discouraged; go out and vote for the candidates of your choice. We believe that INEC will do the right thing. We urge all stakeholders to continue to conduct themselves in a peaceful and responsible manner. Specifically, we call on INEC to hold itself to the highest level of neutrality and accountability and assure Nigerians that Osun and Ekiti can be replicated in the forthcoming governorship and house of assembly elections.
CTA shall observe the governorship and house of assembly elections and calls on all stakeholders to ensure that the elections are peaceful.
